I think due to system limitations there has to be a game.
Don't care who the friendly is against. Surely 1 extra game in season one will have a tiny price increase of at all.

1 - Random friendly is fine by me
2 - Price increase is completely relative to the amount of turns, so no bother at all with me. The season will last one more week and we will pay for that additionally.
I actually really like the idea of a 4 game pre season, but I have voted for the 1 game as I don't think the majority would agree with me. The 1 game is sufficient to take away the element of luck in a league season going down to the wire on points

Random friendly with another managed side in the game, giving chance to sort out teams and tactics going in to the first league game.
Just increase cost of season ticket from £65 to £70 once rolled out.
I’m not sure if it is clear, but I would like there to be a similar turn 0, on not just season 1, but season 2, 3, 4 etc

I voted the one turn option. I'll repeat what I said in the original debate... 1-2 turns would be fine because any longer and people will get bored, which in turn could cause a higher chance of dropout before the season has even started.
1) If this happens - How/who would you play the friendlies against?
If it was a 1 turn then it would have to be against ROTW teams. If there was a 2nd turn the option could be there to play against a managed team (arranged in the first turn) or another random ROTW team.
2) If there was a price increase - Would you be happy with this?
Yes and no - yes if it's a few quid for the odd extra turn, and no if it's a 4-turn pre-season costing an extra £15-£20. The danger for UE is that bump the prices up too high and they could end up driving away their own regular customers... never mind trying to attract new ones.

Pleased my idea got the chance to be given a poll to see what everyone thinks. It’s clearly one sided as well  Personally would have closed ‘postable’ area of the poll though as people have had their chance to give opinions and are now repeating themselves. Also feel this area could be used by some to try putting the idea down or use to attempt to sway people’s voting. So hope that doesn’t occur again. Keep the votes coming lads! The only issue we may have is in time people will moan that this is a bind turn and will want to be able to see this. But as i said that would be in time, so small steps first. 2) If there was a price increase - Would you be happy with this? Dont bother me, UE is still reasonably priced despite it feeling like its rises quite a bit over the past few years. But i guess that's just because I've been in the game so long,

Random managed team of similar value (no point in playing a premier league side if managing a lower team)

Guys, im not sure if any of you have done any Java work or scripting before.
But to turn this game from 26 Turns to 27 turns and scrap the idea of points etc and the table being editted and the fixture list needing adding to plus loads more is a ballache.
Not only that, but its also a additional turn that Ben will need to work.
I wouldnt be suprised if there was a price increase and i would hope it wouldnt put any of you off.
UE - Whoever has been in charge at the time has always done price in crease at reasonable time and within reason, i personally feel this is no exception.

hows this for an idea to give friendly's know your 1st opponent and stay at 26 weeks
turn 1 have 2 random friendly's much like a league and cup turn 1 against a team selected from a division at the same level but not necessarily same country as your own team and 1 against your own reserve side giving you the opportunity to view performances at both squads .
turn 2 have a double league game week where games 1 and 2 will be played same week ,but having the benefit from turn 1 of knowing who your playing and picking your own formation and tactics.
turn 3 season continues as normal from this point on

Thanks everyone. It looks like one additional turn before the league campaign kicks off is comfortably the most popular option. I will look into this when I can. I will look at what is possible with friendly/s on that turn. No point in discussing the options further until I find out what is achievable. turn 3 season continues as normal from this point on The game is build to have 1 league match each turn. Not having any on turn 0 may be doable, but having two in a single turn would need far too much work to make possible.
