Post subject:  The UE Bible For New Managers

Hello all, Recently we was discussing that we current/experienced managers should band together to form a list of ideas for new and potential managers.

If you are new to UE, there are a lot of very good managerd and i'd strongly suggest you take on board some of the advice.

Any managers wishing to add ideas, thoughts... please feel free, but stay on point... No sob stories, name calling etc...

I'll kick it off with...

POTENTIAL!

You'll hear this mentioned a lot, and sometimes referred to as POT.

This is a very good tool to add to a player when wanting to help boost their stats through training.

I would strongly advise not selling players that have potential (view your squad values sheet, * Astix mark means they have added potential).

You could use this in training a players stats, but it's also a valuable commodity when trading and should be thought of as an Ace in your hand.

It's not FA manager, you can't just sell for cash n buy for cash. Always look to swap. Keep an eye on untrainables in SPEED AGGRESSION JUDGEMENT VISION.

TAKE YOUR TIME....

New to the game? Get a feel for it before rushing into any deals, you'll no doubt by bogged down with messages of offers. Be polite, tell them you'll get back to them when you've assessed your squad and see what you want to do with it. Early deals are often the ones new lads regret, Like myself a few years back.

If your unsure, just ask.

Get active either on the forum or in the WhatsApp chats. Talking with other managers will help when it comes to potential deals or even with tactics and formations.

don't get too frustrated if/when you go on a losing run,
it's easy to quit a game, but it feels really good when you turn it around.

I've always offered any advice to a new player
Advised on tactics, stats, deals etc

We've all been new players once and it can take a while to understand all the numbers, information etc. Plenty of decent lads willing to offer time and advice

DONT SELL BEST PLAYERS FOR CASH.

Some great advice above.

As I’ve recently stated on a quiz question I got asked on a hour with on game 119 forum. Soon as you have taken over a team you will be messaged by some managers looking to hoodwink you in to swapping or selling your top players. They are the sharks! So avoid them.

You will hear Chinese whispers from the games gossipers, don’t listen to any of it. Try judging your fellow comrades from your own dealings with them. The ones gossiping running other managers down are also sharks with a hidden agenda. So beware!

Take your time anylyzing your 3 squads, release the deadwood (the 50-60 oa players) soon as you can as you won’t have much space to do it afterwards.

As regards to deals, I remember one of the experienced managers telling me a long long time ago that if you can think of 3 reasons why you shouldnt do a deal then don’t do it.

Best advice I’ve ever been told.

Swaps are the best way to get a decent deal.

Post players available publicly and ask for offers on a thread - Thats the best way to judge all of the offers in one place.

Failing any interest then look to sell for cash, and again failing any interest look to sell on the transfer market or sell to Rest Of World (ROW) teams.

It's always best to list players for cash if you receive a ROW bid, somebody may pay more for these players failing that sell them to the ROW team

Managers who don't deal publicly are usually the ones to avoid! ;)

Im going to give 5 good advise slogans - Hopefully become a italic mention on the rulebook.

1) Try to build 3 squads that can win all 3 leagues... Winning Leagues = More revenue!
Focus on keeping your money in the green to build your directors confidence up quicker.

2) If you dont fill your stadium week in week out, to improve it at the end of the season, it will only make your player wages go up and you'll be losing money as you wont fill it then either.

3) Dont put any SA on any player, look at their stats and judge on position. EG - FLA is good to use on several positions but pointless to use if your player is slow and has no control.

4) Scout scout scout - Scouting is so important especially in the first 5 weeks of a game, ensure you use all your spaces to scout as many teams as you can.

5) Spend time on your team, work out what formation you want to play and swap your best players (that dont fit into your formation) for the other teams managers best players that will.
Rushing your turn will ruin your team, ensure you also check that all the ID's are correct even after sending it on the email confirmation you get from UE.

Good Luck!

Some great tips here, thank you for your guidance.

I'm just wondering looking ahead to next turn, (and trying to keep a tab on my finances)
and hope you can help answer these questions. Will increasing my stadium make my players wages go up, and if so by how much roughly?
Also what exactly happens if I improve my grounds facilities?

Many thanks

George

It won't make your current crop of players wages go up, but it will result in new players being paid more than they would have. Personally I don't bother.

if you are filling out your stadium week in week out then yes an upgrade might be in order, but if you are not maxing out then an upgrade won't help you.
