I think it would be a good idea to be able to invest UE Points in your Youth Academy.
The result would be an improvement in the quality of trialists.

This was / is my alternative to Karma players but could also run alongside it.

Teams could all start even in some formats, and with different levels in other for added complexity.

There could be multiple levels from Basic to State of the Art. More points for each level.
The same principle could be applied to training facilities, an improvement in stat rises as a result.

That’s my two cents :)

I like this idea also.

You're in the game for the long run would be great to see all your prospects developing and coming through the ranks

I like this idea too, as an alternative to youth karma players and related to those who actually actively manage their youth

What a great idea. I'll add it to the list later.

A good enough idea with to many flaws.

There is no point improving the academy output if so many scouts are easy to find.
No point of the OAs are high.

If this is to work then OAs need lowered, considerably. Scout finds need reduced to a very low amount and standard.

I think Ben's time is better spent on something else.

I agree for this too work scouting needs a complete over haul.
Personally I think scouting needs to change anyway

Scrap the academy and all that and just improve triallists and scouts. But don’t over do it with the latter. Job done.

Ross and Muscles what are your suggestions to improving scouting in order to get this "academy" type suggestion implemented.

I'd just improve the trialists.

I think it's a great idea, but a lot to implement. Improving the quality of trialists is an easier fix

It's an idea that has been put forward since I was administering the old forum.
In principle it's a great idea but, as Muscles points out, it would need a major overhaul of the whole transfer/ scouting system in order for it to be effective and worthwhile.
There is absolutely nothing wrong, especially in season one, with trialists. Where it begins to lag is season two onwards as the standard of the trialists falls further adrift of the game. This is due in great part to the required forward motion of the player stats in squads. Everyone wants rises.
If the game slowed and players didn't constantly rise then there would be no issue.

And if we are to get better trialists, have it so they can't be eligible for transfers until they hit 19, if they come in at 16/17 for example.

Could have YTS as their SA to block transfers.
