Have you ever thought about maybe introducing a manager referral scheme?

An existing manager refers a manager or a new manager to a game and gets awarded for it. But in order for managers to qualify for the award then maybe the new manager has to complete a whole paid season. Just so clowns don’t try take advantage.

You could maybe even do a multiple referral offer using either free turns, karma or a discount off season tickets.


Refer 5-10 managers - Free 3 turns or 25 karma
Refer 10-15 managers - Free 5 turns or 50 karma
Refer 15-20 managers - Free 10 turns or 100 karma

If you didn’t like the free turn or karma offer (as muscles won’t then maybe introduce a discount for a season ticket offer for the existing manager. Maybe a 2 ST for £100 offer or even the 121 Northern deal of 3x ST’s for £100. I don’t know.

Either way the idea is aimed at popularising the game and bringing in more & new managers.

As for your idea a referral scheme is a good idea and something that should be implemented but your specifics are a low ball.

Seriously? I don't know about anyone else but I could never get 5-10 managers playing this game and if by some miracle I did the reward is £9?

For me every referral should have a reward.

Working for a small business myself, our business model is focused around referral (and trust and expertise etc). It’s surprising UE haven’t implemented a referral scheme already but I’m sure Ben has business reasons why he hasn’t.

In my opinion, the incentive has to be more appealing but the general idea is a good one. The incentive has to be a free/discounted turn for this to work.

I would not feel sufficiently incentivised to introduce anyone to this game for Karma Points (or for UE Points for that matter). It has to feel like a (real) cash saving/reward. This then becomes a purely business decision that doesn’t impact the game flow/dynamics by offering in-game rewards.

I suppose UE may also offer new players a discounted rate to get a ‘feel for the game’ but again Ben is likely to have valid business reasons for not offering this sort of thing.
