Am very happy to announce that applications for Game 121 are open, and that it will be a hard format game (HFG).

HFGs are different from normal games in the following ways:

Starting Budget

Each clubs starting budget will set according to their squad value, to make it an even playing field for all teams. So the bigger clubs will start in very heavy debt. The biggest will be hundreds of millions in debt. This will encourage (and eventually force) them to sell important players, giving smaller clubs opportunities to buy established star players. Smaller teams will also have UE points to help bridge the gap.

Multi Team Management

There will be no multi team management at the start of the game. This will be relaxed after turn 10 but after that point, there will be a limit of one team per league.

Mail Shot

Managers who have played the game in the past will be emailed about the game, which should make for a very competitive and busy game.

The European leagues will be split into 5 regions:

UK and Ireland, or British Isles. – England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Rep Ireland

Southern - Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece

Western - France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Austria

Northern - Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland

Eastern – Russia, Estonia, Turkey, Latvia, Belarus, Poland, Ukraine Czech Rep, Slovakia, Moldova, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania

All leagues may have 4 divisions, will confirm nearer the launch date.

Image

There will be three non European leagues running:

North American
South American
Asian

Teams from these leagues are not available to manage, but they will play league and cup games which you can scout if you wish, and have youth and reserve squads. All of their players will be available to be purchased at a price.

Applications

Teams will be allocated by private auction, and as always, the amount bid will be the starting credit for that team. Managers will be told how their bids are doing on several occasions before the deadline so they have a chance to alter their bid. There will not be a public post saying how much the bud is for each team, and nobody will be told how far or behind their bud is on any given team.

If you wish to apply send an email with a list of teams how much you are prepared to bid for each one. Bids must be in by 9am on 24th of February. I will email the successful bidders shortly after this and will ask for payment within one week.

A reminder - the biggest teams will start very heavily in debt and managing them will be a different but difficult challenge. It generally won't be a case of you just need to sell 3-4 players to get out of debt. Anyone who bids for a very big team and complains because the team is more in debt than they thought they would be, will be politely directed to this post.

After the auction, there will be some teams left over, so if you don't wish to bid for a team you can just wish to make an application to be part of the game. Say which league you would prefer to go in and will do our best to fit everyone in.

Once the payments have all been made and the list of teams in the game finalised, everyone will be sent an email confirming the team they will manage. There isn’t a definite start date yet as there is still a lot of work to be done before it will be ready.

The game will be run on a Tuesday (Game 119 will be moved to a Wednesday deadline closer to the time)

When you say forced to sell star players what does that mean.
IE..if I bring debt down on a weekly or fortnightly basis will this be OK or is there a time limit as to when debt gets cleared and if I'm bringing debt down even if it's only say £5 million a week will players be sold against my wishes

If you are more than £100m in debt and you don’t reduce the debt on any given week, the directors will send you a message saying they are concerned and will have to take matters into their own hands if the debt is not reduced. If the debt isn’t reduced for two weeks in a row, they will put players on the list at random.

How up to date will the squads be? And will we be able to send over a list of players we expect to be in our squads once allocated to save some being missed out?

And players that are loaned will be at their 'parent' clubs still?

Thanks

Yes, as long as you put at least a season ticket on them, and are happy to help with player details.

Will make it as up to date as I can. Yes, happy to have detailed help with the squad of the team you secure (just sending a link to a squad list isn’t that helpful). Will ask for suggestions for players worthy of the Loyalty and Height SA particularly (193 CM and above).

No. Managers will he emailed 3 times letting them know how their bid is getting in, but there won’t be an updated post with successful bid amounts.

I believe I’m the only one still playing mate, 15 years and counting with no breaks. The legends game was going to be my last, especially if another EFG came out but HFG has saved the day.

Be great to have the old legends guys back.

Players will be at their parent clubs unless they are on a loan with an obligation to buy.

what about transfers in for bigger teams in debt ,in the last game i know a lot sold star players for younger ones with pot and cash.
but will it be possible for bigger teams to still sign players if they sell that week as well.

ie
joe bloggs from birmingham to man utd £8,000,000
mason greenwood from man utd to stoke £30,000,000

signed a player but still cleared £22,000,000 debt

Teams that are heavily in debt will only be able to sign players on free transfers, or in swap deals. They could exchange star players for potential players, but they’ll have to wait 5 weeks for the potential transfer embargo to finish.

If their transfers take them to less than £25M in debt they may be able to sign players, as long as they end up less than £25M in debt.

The example you gave would only be true if they ended up less than £25M in debt.

I always said I'd like to come back for another HFG. But I'm quite shocked that there has only been 1 other game released since I left. Which looking back at my old turns was feb 2018! I mean it's good in a way. As new games usual killed off the old ones. Yeah be nice to see some of the originals from back in the mid 00's make a return. I wasnt sure if the game was even still going.
